I don’t know about you, but I find it baffling how easily Montreal criminals have been escaping institutions lately. You might remember last month when murderer Jean-Pierre Duclos managed to escape while he was escorted to a hospital to treat an unspecified medical condition (he’s still on the loose btw), which was disconcerting to say the least.
Now if you see this scary looking dude riding a bike around Montreal today, I’d advise you to stay the fuck away. His name is Roger Lee Desmarais and he gleefully fled a psychiatric institute yesterday afternoon on a blue-and-white bike. Desmarais was arrested in 2001 after assaulting three women between the age of 18 and 24-years-old. According to police, Roger would follow his victims on the street before attacking them in different locations.
Even though I’m known as one to like creepy guys (who doesn’t enjoy a kidnapping serial killer sex fantasy now and then?), this guy is just plain scary. I don’t know if it has to do with looking like a depraved pitbull-human hybrid or the fact that he’s been institutionalized at the Pinel Institute – where the criminally insane are sent – since 2011. But it’s probably a mixture of both. Rapists are terrifying to begin with, now imagine one that has been deemed too crazy for prison by a court of law tooling around town on a bicycle free as a rape-loving bird. I say we keep an eye out for this one. Roger is 6-foot-1, 180 lbs, has blue eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing an Adidas track suit.
